J. E. Kennedy

YPSILANTI - Jackie Eugene Kennedy, 24, of 10300 Carpenter, York Township, died Saturday evening from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was born Feb. 1, 1939, in Vincennes, Ind., the son of James Kennedy and Mrs. Benjamin (Betty) Duskey Kennedy.
He married Arlene Harden Sept. 7, 1963, in Ypsilanti. He moved to Ypsilanti at the age of two and had resided here since. He attended Ypsilanti High School and was employed by the Rawsonville Plant of the Ford Motor Co. He was a member of the UAW Local 898 of the Ford Motor Co.
Surviving besides his wife are his stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Kennedy; one son, Charles F. Kennedy of Livonia; one step son, James R. Harden at home; four sisters, Deborah, Carolyn, Diana, and Mary Frances, all of Ypsilanti; three brothers, Airman 1-c Everett F. Kennedy of Savannah, Ga.; Army Sp-4 Arnold L. Kennedy of Ft. Carson, Colo. and Phillip P. of Ypsilanti; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Duskey of Belleville; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Katie Kennedy of Vincennes, and one nephew, Michael Kennedy of Savannah, Ga. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Geer Funeral Home with the Rev. William R. Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
