We learn frotn the Western Citizen, that the Rev. John Cross, well known as an anti-slavery lecturer, has been incarcerated in Knoxville jaïl. His alledged crime is feeding and harboring certain colored children who had left the service of their "lawful owner" in Illinois. For though this State is nominally free, yet it appears that slaves are held in some way under the authority of the State laws. We have no further particulars of the case.
