The followieg encouraging letter ís from our esteemed friend. Dr. Gallup, dated Fentonville, May 16: !I have returned from a short visit to Shiawassee Countys the object of whicb vas to consult with some of our friends there upon the expediency of an immediate organizatlon in that County. 1 find our prospects there much more flattering than I had anticipated. Notice had been given to some extent of a meeting yesterday. A very respectnble number came out, and I thiuk I have never addressed an audience in ruy life of.which all appeared more deeplyinterested in the subject. Our friends ! aro highly elated with their prospect, and some talk ofgiving a largor vote in proportion to their population than any other County in the State. Thoy have fi.ved upon the day for a Coiinty Convention for noiiunatiog candidutes &? oí' which y ou will doubtlcss hear. The principies, objects, meastrres and prospects of the Liberty Party seem to be the raam topic of conversation among all parties and in every circle. I was informed that our friend Dr. J. B. Barnes, was waging a constant and not unsuccessful waron the enemy in his part oí the Counly. Success to Shiawassee. In this town we have just organized a Liberty Association. We meet onco in two weeks, and intend to discuss someone of the prominent points in our cause at each meeting. Our prospects are brightening. It is my opinión !hat the Senatorial District will more t han iouble her vote this fall. Some of our VVhigfriends scem very much elated by Oay's Anti-Texas letter. They think it will serve to prevent the further transfer from their ranks to ours, losing sighl of tho f act th at Mr. Clay's rnain argument while addressing himself to the South is, that of the five most natural divisions of Texas, three ofthem would become free States - therefore it will not, all, be for tlie interest ofthe "Peóulfar Institution" for them to socöre its nnnexafion. So ff we take him as hesays, we must belíevé that it is his nnxiety for the supremacyorthe Slave Power that induces hiiñ,to' oppo3e the annexation schemB."
