A writer in the Michigan Farmer shows hat accortiing to its population,. ihis State s novv ahead of all othors in whcat-raisng. In 1839, the erop amounted to 2,.57,108 bushels, being ten busbels and ive quarts to each inhabitanf. The proaortion of Ohio was, indeed, sorae 3 pecks o each inhabitant more; but in -1839 a arge part of our population had but just ;ome in. and their lands were then mosty untilled. The wheal crop.of last year s estimated at 5,000,000 bushels. The iverage price since harvest has been ibout 62è cents at Ann Arbor, and thro' ne whole state it would average say 56 ,ents. This would make the valué of the rop, at home, $2,700,000. The conumption of each person is estimated at 5 ushels annuall y. 1 f tbe present populaion be 300,000, the consumption will 1;00,000 bushels, íeaving 1,200,000 búshls of the erop of last ye&i' for exportation.
