Illness Is Fatal To Mrs. Schairer
Wife Of Merchant Was 72 Years Old
Mrs. Lydia D. Schairer, 72, wife of Alfred C. Schairer of Mayer & Schairer Co., died last night at the Schairer home, 902 Rose Ave., after a long illness.
Her husband is a partner in Mayer & Schairer Co., printing, binding, and stationery firm located at 112 S. Main St.
A lifelong resident of Washtenaw county, she was a member of Bethlehem Evangelical and Reformed Church and a past president of the church's auxiliary.
She was born on Aug. 10, 1876, in Ann Arbor township, a daughter of Jacob and Rosina Schief Staebler. She married Mr. Schairer on Aug. 25, 1898, in Ann Arbor and resided here ever since.
Surviving are her husband: two daughters, Miss Esther M. Schairer, at home, and Mrs. Burt Peterson, of Florence, Kansas; one son, Roy M. Schairer, of Ann Arbor; two grandsons, James and Thomas Schairer, of Ann Arbor; one sister, Mrs. Michael Kearney, of Ann Arbor; and two brothers, William J. Staebler, of Ann Arbor, and Herman A. Staebler, of Ann Arbor township.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon in the Muehlig Chapel with Rev. Theodore Schmale officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the Muehlig Funeral home.
