Resolved, That Slavery ia a sin against â God. I 2. That Sla'-ery Ãs n sin conflicting with the natural und inalienable rights oà mankind. 3. That the existente and perpetuiiy of Americnn Slavcry waa not coniemplated by the original framers of the Constitutlon oà the United States. 4. That Slavery having no existcnce by natural right, but having gained its existente by the enactment oà unjust laws, and henee ia the creature ol Law. 5. That Slavery being created by law, is a fit snbject of Legislation, and must be destroyed by the snme power by which it was created. 6. That we as arui-elavery men, have no in tention of intermeclling with the rights of any oà the independent States, but we do believe that Congrc6S does possess to power to legislate away slavery in the District of Columbio and in the Terri lories. 7. That we are opposed fo the Annexation of Texns to these United S:ates. or any oiher territory by which the bounds of slavery ehall be enlarged. nnd iti power increased. 8. Birney of Michigan, who is loth a gentleman and a Philanthropisi, Ãor the Presitlency of the United Statea, and will take all honorable means toinsare his election duringthe ensuing campoign.
