Western Citizen córifains cheering accounts'of progress in Illinois. The accessions there,as well as elsevvhere, are now largely from the Democratie party. The Citizen says: "In some precincts in Will, Du Page, Kane, Kendal], and some other counties, we understand there has been a complete overtuïning, and both parties are going tbr Hend'ersöh, Birney, and Liberty. In D'ne precint every member of the Democratie Comrnittee had been cÖnvèrtèd, and .when required to cali a Democratie precinct meeting, they responded by" calling a genuine Liberty meeting at the time and place which had been set apart for Polic Demöcracy. At a late special election for Justice of the Peace in VVilmingtori precinct, Will county, the Liberty candidate was elected over the combined opposition of Whigs and Democrafs, and at the same time thirt'een Liberty votés were held;irr reserte. Peter Stewart has carrigd thé Liberty and the Tefhperánce pledges some weeks , past in his pocket, hich hé'fiasöfféred for signatures whenever opportunity has presentad. The old gentleman showed tts the lisf'at Juliet. when it had eighty voters upori it, all of his precinct: In this way the old Scotchman has carried the precinct in true Robert Bruce etylö.' This is the way to work."
