Barrett, Joseph Edmund 6270 Plymouth Rd.- Age 77, passed away November 6, 1971 at his home. He was born November 2, 1894 in Calhoun County, Michigan, the son of Henry N. and Lucinda Burch Barrett. On October 11, 1923 he was married to Josephine Raymond. Mr. Barrett was a graduate of Cheboygan High School and Western Michigan University and he attended the University of Detroit. He was employed by the Murray Corp., Briggs Manufacturing Co. and Chrysler Corp. Mr. Barrett served with the United States Army in World War I. He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and the Men's Thursday Luncheon Club. Survivors include: his wife, Josephine; one son, David J. of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; three grandchildren, David, Jr., Susan and Barbara; one brother, Ralph, of Detroit. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the Fontana Funeral Home with Dr. Frank Fitt officiating. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, Michigan. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to a charity of their own choice.
