The National Intelligcncer aay. - A frienc whose habita of computaiion and onulysis lead him some times to curious conclusions, has handed t us the foüowing memorandum: The late Seígion of Congress commenccd o the 4ili December, IÍ43, and trminated on th 17th of June, includinga period of one hundrcc Jiiid ninetysix days. The House of Representa tivea transacted business on one hundred and fifty six of these doy3, and sat ditring the whole sos sion six hundred and thirty hours. The Yens and Noya were taken three hundred and fity-one times during the session. AUowing that eacl calling of theyeas and naysco' Bumed twenty-five minuie - and this is not equal to the average uniC6pent beiween the suspension of business by the cali and the resumption of it - there were one himdred and forty-six houra and a quarter consumedhy this operation, or about twenty-three per cent. of the whole time the House was in session.
