YPSILANTI - Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Phillipp, 70, who died suddenly Saturday at the home of her son Carl, in Belleville, were scheduled to be held this afternoon in Ypsilanti. She was born April 6, 1880, in Sumter township, Wayne county, a daughter of Charles and Wilhelmina Bortz. On April 11, 1901, she was married to Rev. M. C. Phillipp. He was pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church at Bridgewater for 30 years, retiring from the ministry in 1945. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Carl of Belleville, and Martin of Portage Lake; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Eddie of Toledo; a brother, Albert Bortz of Ypsilanti; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were scheduled for 1:30 this afternoon at the Roberts Funeral Home, Belleville, and at 2:30 this afternoon in Emanuel Lutheran Church, Ypsilanti, with Rev. H. C. Sipe officiating at both services. Burial was to be in Highland Cemetery here.
