John G. Wahr

MANCHESTER - John George Wahr, 81 years old, died yesterday afternoon at his Sharon township home. He was born in Germany, Jan. 7, 1861, and was the son of George and Regina Zachman Wahr. He came to America in 1883 and lived in Jackson and Grand Rapids before making his home in Washtenaw county.
Survivors include the widow, Nena, six daughters, Mrs. Anna Burkhardt, Sharon township; Mrs. Ottilia Schaible, Manchester; Mrs. Bertha Gerstler and Miss Minnie Wahr, both of Ann Arbor; Mrs. Frieda Ahrens, Manchester, and Miss Esther Wahr, at home; seven sons, George, of Jackson; Albert and Paul, both of Sharon township; Ernest, Springport; Oscar, Norvell township, Jackson county, and Carl and Laurence, both at home, and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Jenter funeral home here at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. H. S. Rague will officiate and burial will be in Sharon Center cemetery. Friends may call at the Wahr residence until Friday morning.
