Charles A. Keelan
Charles A. Keelan, retired Ann Arbor realtor and a former official in the Bryant Paper Co. of Kalamazoo, died this morning at the home of Miss Florence Huddy, 26 Huddy Rd., after a long illness.
Mr. Keelan was born Sept. 25, 1884, at Geddes, the son of John A. and Adelaide Keelan. He lived in Ann Arbor as a young man, but later went to Kalamazoo, where he was married in 1902 to Lydia Osborne. Mrs. Keelan died there in 1919.
While in Kalamazoo, he was associated in an executive position with the Bryant Paper Co. there.
In 1932 he returned to Ann Arbor, and had lived here ever since, engaging himself in the sale of real estate for himself in the 1930’s. Surviving are two sons, Philip C. Of Kalamazoo and Laurence O. of Palm Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Alta Smith, of Guam, the Marianas; two sisters, Mrs. Laurel Smith of Battle Creek and Mrs. Rose Dalch of Kalamazoo; a brother, Ray, also of Kalamazoo; and four grandchildren, including Donald Robinson of Ann Arbor, who recently joined the Navy.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o’clock Monday morning at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kalamazoo. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock Sunday evening.
