Saline Resident, 84, Dies After Illness

SALINE—Mrs. Katherine Schaible, 84, died Monday night at her home at 210 E. Michigan Ave. following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 31, 1870, in Lodi township, a daughter of John and Anna Stollsteimer Hack. She married Joseph Schaible on Feb. 17, 1898, in Saline. He died April 11, 1942.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bridgewater and of its Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include twin daughters, Mrs. Esther Noble and Mrs. Alma Visel, both of Saline; a son, Willard of Saline; a brother, Edward Hack of Ann Arbor; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Rymill of Ottowa Lake; three half-brothers, Fred and Alfred Hack of Saline and David of Detroit; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, seven step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Lockwood Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Church. The Rev. Harry Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
