Milan Woman Dies
After Long Illness
MILAN ̶ Mrs. Lavena Gooding, 82, of 246 Ideal St., died early Thursday morning after a lingering illness.
She was born Sept. 7,1876, in Augusta township, the daughter of Ezekiel and Ann McMann Johnson. She was married to Frank Gooding on Dec. 18, 1901, and they made their home in Augusta township on the Johnson farm before moving to Milan in 1913. Mr. Gooding died Feb. 26, 1955.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harvey Gotts of Milan; a son, Edgar of Milan; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Stevens & Bush Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Marble Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
