MRS. VREELAND

Lifelong Resident Of Ann Arbor Dies

Mrs. Genevieve Rayer Vreeland, 76, of 219 E. Liberty St., died Tuesday night in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 20, 1881, in Ann Arbor, a daughter of John and Sarah Hagen Tice. Mrs. Vreeland was a lifelong resident of the city.

She was married to William Rayer in 1906. He died in 1912. On July 26, 1918, she married Leon J. Vreeland, who died June 10, 1953.

Mrs. Vreeland was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and the altar society of the church.

Survivors are two sons, William J. Rayer of Freedom township and Robert J. Rayer of Ann Arbor, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
