Norman E. Passow, 50, of 1767 Upland Dr., a mason, died this morning in St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Passow was born Dec. 1, 1898, in Unionville, but came to Ann Arbor when he was 12 years old. He was married to Ruby Atkinson here on April 4, 1921.
He had been engaged in private work for the past five years. Prior to that he was employed by the University for 21 years and by the Cook-Spring Plant for three and one-half years.
Surviving are five sons, Lee D. and Marvin L. of Ann Arbor, Donald J. of Chelsea, Edwin E. of Monroe, and Dale L., serving with the armed services in Georgia; and three daughters, Mrs. LaVerne C. Morgan and Mrs. Herbert Rorabacher, jr., of Plymouth, and Mrs. William Lening of Ann Arbor.
Mr. Passow also leaves a sister, Mrs. William Wilson of Orlando, Fla., a brother, Fred W. Passow, jr., of Ann Arbor; six grandchildren, and three nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Staffan-Hildinger Funeral Home, with Rev. Henry Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
