MISS SPIESS IS MARRIED TO HERBERT ELLISON

Jane Spiess, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Spiess of Linda Vista Ave., became the bride of Herbert Ellison, son of Mrs. James McKenzie of W. Delhi Rd., in a ceremony at 2:30 Saturday afternoon in Zion Lutheran Church.

The double-ring service was read by Rev. Howard F. Yeager and was followed by a reception at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore for the ceremony a ballerina gown of beige lace trimmed with dark brown velvet. She wore matching lace mitts and a brown velvet cap accented with pearl beading and veiling. She carried two rose colored orchids on a white Bible with satin streamers.

Detroiter Is Attendant

Josephine Grammatico of Detroit, formerly of Ann Arbor, was the maid of honor. Her ballerina gown, designed like that of the bride, was of turquoise lace trimmed with matching velvet ribbon. She wore black lace mitts and black accessories. Her cascade bouquet was of pompoms shaded from cream to gold and bronze.

Gerald Smith of Willow Village was the best man. Louis Spiess of Spies Rd. and Delbert Davidson of Pontiac , cousins of the bride, seated the guests.

At the reception, Mrs. Benjamin Zahn of W. Washington St., aunt of the bride, cut the wedding cake, and Mrs. Herman Spiess of Spies Rd., also an aunt, poured. Mrs. Clarence Smith of E. Liberty St., assisted with pouring, while Mrs. Kenneth Coleman of Westover Ave., was in charge of the guest book.

Will Live Here

After Oct. 15, the newlyweds will be at home at 714 Linda Vista Ave. For going away, the bride chose a light green gabardine suit with brown accessories and her bridal orchids.

A graduate of Ann Arbor High School, the bride is employed as a dietitian’s aid at University Hospital.

Mr. Ellison, a graduate of Eveleth, Minn., High School, served three years with the Navy Submarines. He now is employed at Kaiser-Frazer Corp.
