Age 73, died Sunday, July 30, 2000 at the Saline Evangelical Home. She was born July 9, 1927 in Crystal Falls, MI, the daughter of John and Loviisa Niemi. Irene was united in marriage to Lauren Joe Jedele on May 30, 1959. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church Women’s ZLCW, and the Elk’s Women’s Golf League. She was Treasurer for Church Women United for several years, and also worked many sales for the Kiwanis Club. Irene was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, who will always be remembered for her caring ways, her kindness, her helping hand, her sense of humor, and the love she showed everyone. She is survived by her loving husband, Lauren Joe; children, David (Mary Sue) Jedele of Hartford, CT, Janine Metzner of Ann Arbor, Judy (Dave) Wilber of Canton, and Cheryl (Bruce) Pummell of Milan; grandchildren, Monica Harnishchfeger, David Jedele Jr., Michel Heiser, Kristin Camper, and Adam and Ben Pummel; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Melvin (Ruth) Niemi of Allen Park. She was preceded in death by her son Donald Jedele. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 3, 2000 at Zion Lutheran Church, 11 a.m. with Pastor Barry Ludwig officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Zion Lutheran Church or the Saline Evangelical Home.
