Age 94, passed away Monday, July 31, 2000 at Saline Evangelical Home. She was born October 19, 1905 in Dexter, MO, the daughter of Pearl J. and Rosie (Moore) Birchfield. On June 16, 1922, she married Edgar Samples in Kennett, MO and he preceded her in death, April 4, 1963. Mrs. Robertson worked for the University of Michigan hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1970. She was a member of Ypsilanti Senior Citizens and the Lively Travelers. Survivors include her two daughters, Syble Dye and Shirley Massey, both of Ypsilanti; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Odie and Claude Samples; one granddaughter; and two brothers, Melvin and Roy Birchfield. The funeral service will be at 1:30pm Thursday, August 3, 2000 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE, Moore Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Washtenong Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice, American Heart Assoc or American Diabetes Assoc. Envelopes available at the funeral where family will receive friends 6-9pm Wednesday.
