Charles H. Hale

RIDGE ROAD—Charles H. Hale, 83, died Tuesday at his home on Mooreville Rd. in York township after an illness of one week. He had lived in Mooreville and its vicinity since 1863, and had worked as a carpenter, painter, blacksmith, sheepshearer and farmhand.

Mr. Hale was born Dec. 12, 1862, at Rollins, Mich., the son of Samuel and Jane Hale. He was married Sept. 25, 1887, to Rose Throop.

Surviving are a brother, Almus Hale, and a sister, Mrs. Mae Sherman, both of Ann Arbor; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Stevens and Bush funeral home in Milan. Rev. T. C. Fletcher will officiate. Burial will be in Mooreville cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
