Mr. Bibb, the fugitive, who is nearly white, seems to make a very strong anc good impression wherever he goes. A correspondent vvrites us froin Saline, Oc tober 12: "On Tuesday last, it was announced in this village, that, in the evening of tha day, Mr. Henry Bibb, a slave who has quite recently made his escape from bondage, would lecture upon the subject o; American Síavery, and relate his own experience, in relation to the same. Notwithstanding the writer of this arricie, has not hitherto acted with the politica! Abolitionists, and has seldom altended anti-slavery meetings, curiosity indnced him to go and listend t o the remarks of one whom hesupposéd tobean ignoran t, foolish negro, possessing intelligence, butone iegree above the brute creation. In this respect, he was egregiously mistaken. - That Mr. Bibb possessesnative talents, not inferior to any man in Michigrn, will readily be admitted, by all who heard him speak. VVhen it is considered that he has been regardèd asa mere chattel or thing, and writhed underthe lash of inhuman taskmasters, nearly all his life, entirely depríved of the advantnges of an education, the case and fluency with which he speaks, and the intelligence which he exhibits, are truly astonishing. Nature has made him an inteílectual prodigy, and if the native talent which he possesses, be properíy cultivated, he can not fail of becoming one of the most distinguished men in our country. The prospect of the Liberty party in his town is flattering. It is thought that a larger number of voters will be cast 'ov the Liberty ticket, thanhas ever been ;iven upon any former occasion. Some of the individuals residing here, who signified their intention to vote for Clay, mve changed their minds, and are now determined to support their own ticket."
