Member Of Long-Time City Family Dies
Mrs. Carrie L. Kielwasser, 94, the widow of John F. Kielwasser, died Sunday at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Preketes of 1311 Red Oak Rd.
A member of an early Ann Arbor family, she was born. Nov. 25, 1864, the daughter of Frank and Charlotte Gwinner Kapp.
Mrs. Kielwasser was married March 10, 1897, in Chicago, where the couple lived until returning to Ann Arbor in 1901. Mr. Kielwasser died Nov. 12, 1950.
Mrs. Kielwasser was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Women's Union of the church.
Besides Mrs. Preketes, survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Hartley Van Kleek of Ann Arbor; a son, George W. of Whitmore Lake; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Henry Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel. Contributions may be made to the Carrie Kielwasser Memorial Fund of the church.
