rersuantto adjournment, ,the Liberty Party Association óf Lapeer County met at Newark Schoolhouse, October 10, 1844. Jonathan Sweet wascalled to the Chair, a committee appointed to draft the Resoluiions corresponding with the disposition of the members; likewise a corresponding committee. The following resolutions were reported and unanimously adopted. Resolved, That it is the duty of every man, who is for Liberty and opposed to Slavery, to act with the Liberty pnrty in the coming election - believing it to be the salvation of the Nation. Resolved, That every consideraron of patriotism and pure principie demands our whig friends to cease their incessant all and claim on Libe%y men to vote vith them - but that they come over to ur help immediately. Resolved, That we earnestly solicit olh Whigs & Democrat s to ponder well tie result of their course, {Slavery and "exas) and especially Whigs in this and ther States, where there is no possibility f electing their favorite candidates. Resolved, That the result of the Baltiïore Democratie Conventions plainty riows, the course invariably pursued by ie South to subserve the interest of the laveholder, and perpetúate the national in and evil, and likewise the want of sta)ility, consistency and virtue in Northern )emocrats in aiding in their nefarious lans. Resolved, That we view with regret nd occasional indignation the abuse and [ander our candidates and party have reeived from the Whigs; and that aside 'rom this uncalled for abuse, we cannot arry out liberty principies and vote for 3. slaveholder, or for any one that votes br or patronizes slavery in any way. Resolved, That the Liberty party is a istinct organization, holding no allegiance to eithef of the others. Resolved, That we recognize no one as a Liberty man who does not carry out lis principies at the ballot box. Resolved, That we believe it never expedient to do wrong - and that it is a good rule to vote right ihis once, and the next time too.Corresponding Commitiee. Nathan Green, of Hadley, Wra. S. Voted, that the doings of this meeting be forwarded to the Signal of Liberty for publication.
