Messrs. kDiTORs:- A few düya sínce béng out frora home, I put up for the night at ihe litile village village of Portland. ín tbecouno of the evening, two gentlemen n the room, where I was sitting, wlio appeared to be men of discernment and somewhat extended obser. vaüo:i- th one a Whig the other a Democrat- entered nto a conversation upon political mattere, and without makmg any severe attacks upon each other, their conversation soon turned upon the prospecta of the rtifièrent parties. As to thg Liberty parlf, one of them remarked that "nato was the turning point with ti)e?in! tfiiit f by any stratasomof the other porties, nroads couldbe made upon them, and a goodly number coúld be induced to vote at tlu's election with the otbeir aartie, thcy nevor Coiflü rally ogain: but on Ihe otter hand, if they stand true to their cause and vote for Birney, their speedy euccess is eer - tai.n.'' To this sentiment the other beartily responded. To my mind, such a tatement rrom such rrien, ppeaks volumes i.i favor of concert to the Liberty party. Letevery Liberty man be at the polls and drop in a vote tbr the noble Birney and Aiorrie, nnd Victory over the blöod stuined System öf Slavery ia surely and speedily ours.
