The Democratie Congressional Couveritiou for this district, was held iu this City yosterday. It ixa called to order by B. Follktt, Esq., of the District Conimittee, and was organizcd by the olection of Jonathan Shearer, 'of Wayne, as temporal y Chairman, and T. 31. Cook, of Wayue, Sccretary pro tem, Mean. Kibbh, of Wayne, Follett, of Wasliteiiaw. Bbnkett, of Jackson, TIubbell, of Livingston, wero appointed a comniittce on credentials and permanent organization, and the convention took a recess uutil one and a half o'clock, P. M. AFTERN'OOX SKSSION. The conveution permanently truuizod by electing tho following officers: President - Jonathas Sheaher, of Wayne. Vic6 Preside.'tli - John McDermott, of Wayne, Henkï Warner, of Washtenaw, W. H. Pbase, of JacksoD, Jos. Brov.w. of Livingston. Secretarios - Thos. M. Cook, of Wayne, II. H. Hariiox, of Livingston. On motion of B. Follktt, of Waslitenaw, Hon George V. N. Lothrop, of Wayne, was dcclared unanimously nominated by acclamation as the eandidate for Congress in this district; and the nomination was responded to by three hearty cheers for Mr. Lothrop.
