The ceremonies of lnying the corner stone of the ne-w Presbyterian Church took place on Wednesday, at 9 o'clcck, A. M., at whieh hour a goodly number was congregnted to wit neis the interesting scène. The Scripture3 were read by Rev. S. D, Cochean, a fter which Ihe Pastor of the Churoh bnefly stated the needs of eritering upon the work, and read a brief history of the Church einc its organi. zation to the present. City Charter and Ordinances. A oopy of each of the City papers, and of eaoh of the Detroit dailies. The City Directory, and olher rticles the Dames of which have esciped us. After the etone was laid in its place a brief and appropriate address was delivered by Dr. Taffah, which was followed with Prayer and the Benediction. The work on the Church is now fairly oom menced, and we hope will progresa to an earli completion. The Church has been designed and plans furnished by Mr. Heard, Architect, of Cleve land.Ohio. lts eize, inclusive of towers is to be 65x113 feet, tho I audienee room will b 62x92 fect, and will comfortably seat one thousand. The steeples will reach a height aboye the ground of 184 feet. The building is to be creoted under the superintendence of Jas.Morwick of Syracuse, N. Y.
