At a meeting ot tbc Uummon i ouaoil of thii Oity, held at the Mayor's office, on Monday Dc. 31 t 1860 atöoclock A M, a oommittes appointed at a previous maetinij, reported the following preamble and retolutiona, whieh wcre unnnimously artopted: Wlurcat - It has pleast:d God to send the messenger of death int our midst, nd to trike down in the vigor of manhood one of our number Aldermiin Hlrma.v Sohlaok, of the Secoad Ward, therofore Renlvtd, That bearing testimoDy to the worth of our decfuasd associate and brother asa man. and to his intelligence and iniegrity as an offi er we liiicerely raourn his decease, nd mingle our ympa hies with the teara of hit bertared wife and family. Rcnlned That as a tribite of our respect for the decpased we ill attend the funeral f the late Alderman Schlack. in a body, wtaring tha usual badge of muuning. Ritolvtd. That thi preamble and resolutionj be entered on the journal of the Board, and published in the several papers of thi Cily; and that the Rsoorder present an at estd enpy of the same to the widow of the deeated.
