Washington, Jan. 9. A 'detaohment of C8 disrnounted dragoons passed through Baltimore yesterday P. M., froin Carlisle barracks to Harper's Ferry, as a gaard for the Government iirmory. Tbey aro ordered there on the requisition of Super iotendent Barbour. Mr. Boteler 8trongly urged upon tho War Department, that it wonld not bo po'itio to send thern there at this time. Chicago, Jan. 9. Troops from Fort Lcavenworth, nuinboring Uso hundred men and twenty-eight offloen, and one hundred and twenty-aeven horses, en route for Fort McHenry, arrived this evening and löave to-night vía Pittsburg. Baltimore, Jan. 9. A company of marines, numbering 40 muskets, under Liant. Howell, carne iu a special train froin Washington this morning. and took poissession of Fort McHenry and hoisted tbe stars and stripes.
