To day, the anniveraary of tbe birth-day of George Washington, 3 to ba more geuerally celebrated than any previoas return of it - at least for many ye ars. The notes of prepara - tion hive been soundei in all the cities of the ïiorth, and we may hope that even in the South it will arouso the patriotism of truc acdloyal Americana. It is to be appropriately observed in our City. At 3 o'elock P. 11., in addi-ess will be delivered in the M. E Chureh by the Rev. Dr Tappan, and we are safe in guaranteeing that it will be an adJress wortli hearing. Hon. A. Felch will offioiate as President of the day, and Rev. F A. Blades as Chapla in. Let our citizens fill the House. jSL" John Beegan and Eobert Boyd, of this City, were arrested in Ypsilanti last week, and are now in jail , the former for brcaking Binder'a windowá, and the lat ter on a charge of etealing an overcoat. Sinee writing the above we learn that Beo gan has been examinad beforS Justiee Vanclkve, and ruquired to find bail in the sum of five huudred dollars for his appeirance at the next term of the Circuit Court, which failing to'procure, ho was remandod to jail. -■+ i -- E" A eorrespondont has furnished us a report of the Junior Exhibition.
