- Earth has some sacred spots, where we feel like loosening the slioes from ourfeet, and treadtög with holy roverence ; wh;re comiuoo words of pleasure aro uníitting; places whero i'rieudship's h;mds have Irugered in caeli othcr's, whero V0W8 havo been plightcd, prayors offered, and tears of parting shcd. Ob, how the thoughts hover around such places, and travel back through immens ured spaco to visit them. Uut of all the spots on the green eartb, none is so sacred as that whcre rests, waiting tho resurrection, those once clierished and loved. Henee in all ages, the botter portion of mankind havo chosen the loved spots for the burial of their dead, and in thoso spots they have loved to wander at eventide to medítate and weep. liut among all tlio charnel houses of the dead, if there is one spot more saered thao the rest, it. is a ntothcr's grave. There sleeps the mother of ouï infancy - the guido of our joutli - the counsellor of our riper years- our friend wben others deserted us; she whose heart was a stranger to every other feeling but love, and who could alwaj-s find an excuse for us wheu we could fiud none foi oursêlvcs. There sbo sleops, aud we love the very carth for her sake.
