From tho van iron tubes oarry it over the tops of tho carringcs, the conneotion betwuen tho pipos on uach carrino being made of flexible tubing. From these pipes short susponders drop into each oompartinent of tho cnrriages, to which aio attncbed nent brackets and glass globes. Thtis a flood of light by whiuh passengen may read comfortably is obtained, and considerable wnrmth i imparted bv the Intnp, whüe ati foul air escapes througl) tho rooi.
