The oíd Common Council held its last session on Thurdday evening of last week, Mayor ISarry n the cliair, and prcscat a full Board txeept Alderman Beesimer. Tetition of Prof. Brunnow was presented for leave to rrect a line of telegraph polos from the Observator to the Railroad. Granted. Constitutiun nnd By Laws of Hurón Fire Company No. 1, were presented for approTnl, and laid on f lie table for the consideration of the new Couneil. Bond of Charles Boylan, Constable elect for the First Word, was presented and lh same dis;, osition made of it. A list of claim9 for services en Boards of RegÍ8tration,of Inspectors and Clerks ofEleetion, for Printing, Marshal's services, Street work, o., to , - sufficient we eonclude to eat up Ihe balance in the Treasury- were reported from Fiuance Committee and allowed. Alderman McCreery reported the brick building, córner ofFourth and Washington streets as being removed and not likely to troublJ the incoming Couneil. There being no furtlier business before the Oouncil, Mayor Miller, Recorder Webster, and McCreery, Maynard, Fritz, Nye, Jackson, Cowle8 and Swathel, Aldermen eleet, presented themselves, were sworn into office by Mayor Baket, and the oíd Couneil "died a natural death." Mayor Millee in the chair, the uew Council proceeded to business. The Bond of Charles Boylan was taken from the table and approved ; the Constitution and By-Laws of Hurón Fire Company were also taken up and approved, and an orclinunce relat ive to lieensin Concerts, Kxhibitions, etc., was taken from the table and referred to a special committee, A Committee wasappointed to settie with O. Webster, late Treasurer, consisting of Messrs. Smith and N-e, L C Risdon wüs elected Treasurer for the ensuing year, and bonds fixed at $10,000. The Couneil then adjourned until Monday evening, April 15th.
