Demócrata havo always stood by their Southern ' brgihren and struek inanful blows in delense of their constitutionul rights, but they will never, nevkk, NEVER ! help them break up the government and plant an o'.igurchy in its stead. The Demócrata of tho North have always fought the battles of their country, and they will never ongage in a war ngainst it. And, besides, at tliis juncture they have nut the slightest syrnpathy with those aruh-conspirators and traitors who joined hands in breaking up the once proud and glorious Demparfy that over its ruina they inight break down tho government itsolf. The Democrats remember Charleston and Baltimor, and remembering them renew their vows of allcgiance to tho Union. The North is a unit as southern traitofB will learn to their sorrows if tliey have not already found it out. When tho traitors have been defeated and punished, and the government placed on a firmer foundation than ever, then, and not before, will Democrats be heard as Democrats, and speak in defense of tho rights of the South.
