On Saturday afternuon last, tlio First Michigan Regiment was paraded on the Campus Martius in Detroit, nnd Judge Morrow and D. Betiiuse Dl-ffield, in behalf of the ladies of Detroit, presented each member of the regiment with a cockade, and the regiment with a beautiful flag, under the folds of which they will march " to victory or death." The flag was of rich blue silk, tho edges werc ornamcntcd with heavy gold fringo. On one sido were two American flags intertwining the National seal, and guarded by the American Eagle; and on the reverso the coat of arms of Michigan with these inscriptions : "Miciiioan's Daugiiters to Hek Son's. Defend It." " First Regiment of Infantry." The painting was finely executed. Col. Willcox appropriately responded to the speeches of prescntation, and in the name of the Regiment proniised to stand by the colors entrusted to their protectiou. L3T We publish the letter of Gen. Hauney, not simply for the declaration of bis allcgiance, but for the strong point it makes gainst the right of aecession. - Tt is worth a careful reading.
