A special sesión of the Board of ' pervisors s to be held ou the second MoDUiy of June, for tho purpose of Bqnalization. ThÍ3 is necessary because of the meeting of the State Board of" Equalizatiou in August. At the same meeting, by virtue of an act of the late extra sessiou of the Legislature, the Board will be required to loan nioneys to aid the families of folunteers called into the service of the country. t3?p C. A. Ciiapin', of this city, has placed oq our tablc a copy of the SavanV.ah Repiiblican for May 3d. It is brim full of Southern Confederacy enthusiasm, but keeps dark on the goings on in the North, either not believing in tho uprising bere or not wishing to keep its readers correctly posted. It has Jeff. Davis' message, and "Montgomery Correspondenee." Itsnorthern news column is headed " Uuited States Affairs." It announces that Mrs. President Davis is giving weekly rceeptions at tho "White House;' that Cushing, Evcrett, and Commodore Stockton havo fallen, and perpetrates several serious jokes at the expense of the "northern hireliags." It is remarkablo both for a lack of "senaation head inga'1 aud a lack of news.
