C:irl Schurz, who has been commies ioned to i liso a regiment of cavalry in the Northwest, for the givernment service, writes to :in oflficer in Cincinnati na followa: "I am insiructed to enüft priitcipalty sv:ch men as have heretoforo served in cnv-ilry, and who will not require much drilling befnre taking t)tí finid. "The regiment wil] consist oí five (■qtiadrors, eaeh squadron of two con paniee, each company orgar.ized as follows : "One captain onofirst lientennnt, one scoond ieutenant, one first sergeant, one company quartermaster serg:int, four sergeantH, cight corporals, two buglers, two farriera and blacksmiths, one saddler, one wagoner, and seventy two privatei ; aggregate ninety-five men rank and file. "The men will be reqnired to ftirnish their own horses and hórso equipmente, for which they will bo allowed fifty cents per dy foi' use and risk. " As to uniform, no rogulation has yetbecnmi.de, but I thfnk we sh:ill adopt a uheap uniform for field servicio, probably a blue blouse, woolen pants of dark gray cloth, and the nnny bat, Arms will be fornlsbed by tbe governtr-.enf, and the mn V'I! be enÜstecl for three reftt-M
