-The tiv Cummittee of the Society of Alumni of Ihe University of Michigan, are arranging for their anniversary exerciscs. -whieh occur on Tuesday, June 25th,and will consist of an Oration, Poem. and Dinner. Judge Bexj. F. Parks, of Aurora, 111., is announced as Orator, nd Prof. C M. Cady, of Chicago, as Poet. Prof. B. has jlso placed on eale medallions, in piaster, of Washington Irving, from an original made by himself some years ago. It is prorounced a truthful likeness, and our friends who are ad' tnirers of that lamented author would do well to procure a copy. l" Wc have reeeived the June number of the Eclectic Magazine. Besides the ever interesting table of Literary Miscellanies, it has twenty-two papers, selected with good judgraent and much caro from nine of the Knglisli periodicala. The embellishment is a Buperb trio-portrait píate of Jackson, Webster, and Clay, aceompanied by brief bio graphical sketches of each of those three distinguished men. The Eclectic is always n welcome guest. $5 a year, with a beautiful premium plate.
