Having savod j the lives ol severa] persons on Lake Erio, he was ofïered a considerable sum of money, whioh lio declined, on condition that they would secure him an education. Thoy complicd with bis requent, sent him to Rchool, and afterwards socured him a situation at West Point, wheru ho hasjust graduated with tho highest honors.
