Wuh a very littlc ou'lay. a auitable receptacle can bo made for recciving thoso house slops which are allowed to go to waste by so jmny. One tucthod recominended to us by a fricud is, to set an old oil-cask iu the ground on the north side of your house under the spout aud cover it with a lid; a little charcual tlirown into it once a week will prevent all unpleasaut suiells. From this tank tbc wash can conveniently be applied every few days to cucumbers, meluus, squashes, raspbeiries, grape-vines, etc. Another plan pursued suceesfully is to couduct the slops into a vault whero they will be absorbed by niuck, leaves, and other suitable ingredients of a compost heap. This is made by diggiug a hola two or threu feet deep, and eight or teu leet square, laid in water-cemeut. If too expeusive, firra clay slabs, or old tiniber will auswer for walling purposes.
