At a meeting ofthis association held 01 the 24th inst. the following resolution; were unanimously passed: lst. Resolved, Tlmt every day's de velopemenls tend only to strengthen usir the belief that our cause is jüst and om principies right, and that in the person o the noble andself-sacrificing Birney the have an adrocate of great moral and in tellectual worth. 2nd. Resolved, That the stander anc abuse Mr. Birney and the principies he advocates, have received, and still are reciving, from certain miserably corrupt pro-slavery orators and presses, serve only toendear him and them to us: - and that, in our opinión, they will live in the grtteful recolleciionof disenthralled millions, whiletheir heartless, and time servingopposerf will be buried in oblivion. 3d. Resolved, That the additional light shed on the subject of the annexation of Texas to the U. States, strengthens us in the belieOhat its admission to this ünion would be attended with the most deleterious effects - giving to the South additional political strength - enlarging and perpetuating the institution of slavery with all its evils, and thus involve the nat ion ín open disgrace. 4th. Resolved, That as American Freemen who love liberty and hate oppression, we protest in the most solemn manner against the Annexation of Texas to this Union with a Constitution and laws that tolérate the nefarious institution of
