C.,'' the organizaron of which we noticed in a recent issue. This circular states that " heretofore articles intendod for tho benefit of our soldiers have been long dclayed in rcaching their destination, and, in sorao instances, as is belicveJ, tbey havo been lost altogether." Tu remedy tbis evil so far as tho Michigan soldicrs are concerned, the Michigan uien in Washington have organized an association, and established an office for tbe receptioti and distributiou of donatious to soldiers iu iny of the Michigan regiments quartered at or near Washington. Tho circular says: " We have a depot in tho Patent Office buildiag, under the direction of Messrs. J. B. Bloss and M. E. N. Howell, who will visit the Express office cach day, and take chargo of nll packages directed to Michigan soldiers and such as may be directed to a particular regiment, cornpany, or individual, will at once be sent forward to the.r inteoded destination." It also makes the following important annouucement, which aid societies should bear iu mind : "Arrangements have bet n made with Adama & Co's Espress for t!ier?j Iransportation of aïï doiudion to our soldiers - but to secure this freo transportaron, the paclcages must, in all cases, be mavked thus : ' .Donatim for Michigan Soldiers; care of the Michigan Soldiers' llelief Association, Washington, D. C" ITon. J. M. Edmunds, Commissioner of the General Land Office, is President of this Association ; II. J. Alvord, Seoretary ; and II. J. Gray, Treasurer. - We commend it as a much needod and trust-worthy agout between our citizens and their soldier friends iu tho "Grand Army" near Washington.
