We havo derived trom responEiuie sources soino ïnloresting ioformaüoD coticerning the military movements iiow in progresa at Port Roynl. The expedition against Bayannub, whlch hns boen eo long promüed, is aupposed to bo at last in progress. Keoonnoitsring parties, and corps ordered out lor the parpóse of clearing tha n:iy tot guoboatB, havo, 31 nee thu 4thoröth of the past month, been sent frora Hilton Houd, and have proceeded Sou', hward beyond Tyboe Island. It was uoderstcod at Port Koyal that these corps were providcd with sawa apparatus for draggjnjf log of wood out of those of the rivera or navigable ereeks sou tb of the Savannah river - probably the Wilmiogtun - into which thu rebels had Bank obstruetions, ovideiiliy BupposinR that they had destroyed the navigability of the streams. It was further understood that this expedilion was to be carried on both by water and land, and that the land iorce would conriët of about half the troops under General Shertnan, or ten thou-iand men. This number, it was thougbt could be eafely spured, as there is little danger that the rebels will undertake to cross any of the ïivers for tho purpose of attacking onr troops. The Wabash and tbei;u iboa's were at Hilton Hoad, and could ba at once placed in readiness to undertake their part of the Service which might' be required. Warsaw Inlet was to be the first destination of the expadition when it should start. Of the time when this would occur, there was, of cnurse, no menns Information. A liAILWAY O.N HILTON HBAD I6LAND. A new and unexplained movement - the building of a railway on Hilton Head Ieland- is said to be in progress. The road beyins at the northern end ef the Island, and is to extend southward in the direetion of the main land which at some points, is distant but a short way, and where ferry I dations might be easily esuibüshed. I This movement is undertaken with a view of making Hilton Head a great permanent baso of opera ti ons - an ob ject which has bi en faithfully kept in view from the beginning. No_cahad been procured, but those adapted to horse-power could easily and speedily be conveved to General Sherman when heshould desire them. The whart at Hilton Head is building with as much rapidity as possible. To aid in the work, one or two old whalers have been sunk; and these it is undergtood aro also used in approaching with stores to that portion ui the whrf already built. TYBEE ISLAND. The main body oí our forces at Tybee Island ib encarnped beyond the range of the guns of Fort Pulaski; yet, whenever our pickets appcar within easy range, the rebels throw shells at them. The finng ia supposed to be carried on for the sake ot practice, as the chunco of to our troopa is exceedingly elight. -
