-Capt. Richard Beauan, Co. H, 14th Michigan Infantry, arrived home on a Biok iurlough on Tuesday evening last. Capt. B. is looking very thin, and has evidently had a hard time, though he anticipates a rapid reoovery. The I4th is about five miles from Corinth, is in good condition, and reporta fit tor duty about 675 men. Capt. Beaiian says that his company has not lost a single man since reaching the field. JC3ST Col. Castle Sutherland, a thirtyyears resident of this city, died nt the residence oí his son, S. Q-. Sutuirland, on Sunday evening last. He was 72 yeare oíd. His funeral was attended on TneHday by a largo number of our old citizens, and his remains deposited in Forest Hill Cemetery. L2T" Byrox Cook, son of Mrs. Mahala Cook of this city, and brother of James R. Cook, Esq., of Ypsilanti, a privato in Co. H, Fourth Michigan Infantry, was instantly 'illed in the battle of Tnrkey Bond, at about suneet, on the First of July. The ball penetrated the forehead nu a line with the nose. A private letter to his friends in this city speak of him as a true soldier and much beloved by his comrades. His body was left on the field to be buried by strangers.
