I called on Mr. Jackson, a genileraan of niuch influence h err, and one wbo feels a deep interest in the eubject of eilucatioo." I found in his hands a tubscription drawn by himself for a Wesleyan Methodist íáeminary at Leoni, and filled to the amount of about one thousnnd dollars by gentlemen of this vieinity. - Mr. Jackson is ready to givo us all tlie nid he can in subscription, and tliinks it pr bable that his subscripüuu mny beswell ed by the people of Ihis place to $1500. Heoffers in addilion to his subscriplion, to give a bsautiful site a short distance east of the village, and a few rod6 eouth of the Rail Rond. T think that I act in accordance witli the wif lies of the friends of edneation in our church throughout the central pat of Michigan, when I carnestly request the above namcd committee, and Board of Trustee?, with Br.
