More Indian Troubles
Omaha, Sept. 9. Powerful bands of Indiana are threatening the Northern settlemenls in tliis Territory. The settlers are greatly alarmed and are coming in with tbeir families. ïhere is no excitement and no cause of alarm in this looality, Acting Governor Paddoek has telegraphod to tlie Secretary of War offering sufiicient military foroes to hold the Indians io check along the borders of Nebraska The militia is being rapidly organized and drilled. It is believed that a mod erate militia force, properly disposed along this border, aDd a similar force in Minnesota and Iowa, will ba adequate provisión against Indiau iucursions.
