Domestic economy should be a etudy in these times. Look over the prices of anieles used in a faniily and it will be seen that most of thom of them are enormously high, nor are they likely to be lovver for a long time to come. - Thero has been no suffering yet, for money has bean abundant, bul this cannot continue forever, and while the cost pf living will prob,ably increase the nest twelve months and ranch Ionger, the means of living will decrease. It is quito plain, thereforc, that if pronts of tradelall off and business diminish ee, there will eveutually be suifering and privation unless we resort to the Strictust eeonorny and frugality. This change of habita will be unavoidable; we shall deluy as long as posible, but necessity will compel retrenchment, fuid the sooner we look forward to that point, the wiser it will be in us. We have no doubt that euch a change wil] in the end prove benefioiul. The li'astbfulness, extravaganties, and excessen of the American people, in eating, drinking and dressing, have not had a parallel in the bistory of the world : and all tuis has been against health, happipew and moráis.
