- A correspondent of the Scienlific American says he has tried the following plan of keepiug potatoes, for four years, and bas not lost a bushel in that time aTter they wcre liarvested ; tbough in somo cases they wero half disoased when taken out of the ground. " Dust over th,e floor of the bin with slackfd limo and then put in about six or sevcn inches deep of potatoes, and dust with limo as befure. Put in six or seven inches dwp of potatous, and dust with lime as before, repeating the operation till all aro stowed in that way. One bushd of lime is sufficient for forty bushels of potatoes, 1-hough more will pot hurt them. The lime rather improves the flavor tha,U ylherwise.
