Commissinner Newton, of the Agricultural Dupartment, received this mornint; from Dr. A. R. A. Von Welf bech, director ol tho imperial printing establishment in Vionnu, a nurnber of specimens of paper, manufaetured from the husks of Indiun eorn. Also, specimens oí yarn, ünen cloth, &c, made out of the same material. Also, specimens of maize Üour, (the only ïmtriiive sub6tance of the cora shucks) obtained irom the mus. The paper has the appearance (and apparently the durability) of parchment, and fop printing purposes is excellent, as is ehown by soine of the samplea whioh have baen thus used - the imprension of the type being a great deal clearer thao on paper munufactured from cotton rags. The most remarkable thing in regard to the procesa ot its manufacture U its simpücity.
