Ilaviug received a nomination for Circuit Judge, (not a political office), and expeeting (if elected) to keep wholly from aotive politieal life, and for six years (if a good Providence should so long spare my life and health) givs ruy enorgioa without fear, favor or affection to the duties of tho bench, it would in my opinión, be an ill pieparation for the reuponsibilitieg and duties of the judicial station, to enter iuto the heated exoitements of political strife.
