The Jacob Bell had 1,600 tons of teu. lier passengers and crew were transferred to a Danish vesael The United States steamer Alabama left St. Thomas on the 20th of February in seareli of tho Florida. Tlie steainer Colnmbia ran the blockado at Wilmington, North Caroline, and had arrived at St. Gfe'orge with a cargo of cotton and tobáceo. The Coluuibia reported the arrival at Wilmington of the steamer Giraffe. New York, March 2. The cargo of the ship Jacob Bell, destruyes by tho Florida, was chiefly for Engiish account. It was valued at 8600,000, and naured in Eugland for New York. The vessel and freight was valued at $100,000 and insurtd in New York and Boatou. Tho government isa he-ivy loser, as the duties would have buen SI" 500. The Jacob Beli's cargo was valued at SI 500,000. The Vanderbilt was at St Thomas on the 20ih and was to leave the next day on a cruise. The Federal ship Shepherd Knapp left St Thomas the week previous in seareli of the rebel pirate Alabama. A liumber of Federal vessels were at St. Thomas feariug to leave, lest they should fall a prize to the pirates. The offieers of tho Florida say they pnssed the night iu company with the Vauderbilt lately.
